Bridgewater is pleased to announce the addition of two new standard features at The Villas at Renaissance Crossing in Wentzville—R38 attic insulation and Low-E windows (with the exception of window wells). What does this mean to homebuyers? Read more to discover the many benefits!
It is important that attics have appropriate insulation as it keeps a home more comfortable in both summer and winter and helps reduce the costs associated with heating and air conditioning. There are also the additional benefits of your HVAC system having to run less often and as a result the air in your home does not get nearly as dried out. More substantial insulation also provides a quieter and more luxurious home environment. The measure used to determine the quality of insulation in your home is “R” value—the greater the R-value, the more heat flow is reduced, comfort elevated and the costs of heating and cooling reduced.
The second standard feature is Low-E glass in all windows (with the exception of window well windows). Low E glass has a coating that can significantly affect the overall cooling, heating and lighting costs of a home. The “e” stands for emissivity—the ability of a material to radiate energy. Reducing emissivity of one or more window glass surfaces improves a window’s insulating properties. Having low-e glass can improve the insulation of a home from external temperatures in any climate. Low-e coatings minimize the amount of ultraviolet and infrared light that passes thru glass without compromising the amount of visible light that can enter. The result is more comfortable living, lower utility costs and less damage to fabrics and fading of floor coverings.
Bridgewater is pleased to offer both of these energy efficient benefits as standard features at The Villas at Renaissance Crossing. For more information, contact Jane Felkel – 636.299.8444 or janefelkel@bridgewatercommunities.com.
